Valet Curbside Drop- Off

Morning Valet Drop Off

Valet Drop Off is a service fueled by school staff and vetted volunteers. The goal of valet is to provide a fast, convenient and safe way to bring your children to school.  The service is offered between 7:45 a.m. and 8:06 a.m. each week day. Valet is being organized by the 74th Street Community School Coordinator. Parent volunteers arrive at 7:35 A.M. for set-up. We ask that all parents that can sign up to volunteer via the Valet Parent Volunteers 2024 Sign-up. Your help is also appreciated anytime after you have been vetted and trained by the school staff. ! Thank you in advance for volunteering for valet. Our priority is to keep our 74th Street family safe and engaged.

Pick at least 5 days to work (7:45AM - 8:15AM) during your assigned month.

Thank you so much for donating your time and creating a safe environment for the kids!

HOW CURBSIDE VALET DROP-OFF WORKS:

Drivers, please arrive at school heading east on 74th Street. Be forewarned that 74th Street is very busy between the hours of 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM.  Do NOT make a U-turn on 74th Street after dropping your child off. While doing so is illegal, it also creates an unsafe situation for all  staff, students and families traveling to and from our school. Please cross the street at all corners by using the marked crosswalks. Jaywalking on a 74th Street where speeding has been observed is unsafe.  This service is being implemented in cooperation with the LAPD and LAUSD School Police, and will be monitored by their officers.

To ensure the safety of all children, all drivers should follow these simple rules:

  1. Please follow the instructions of the valet crew.
  2. Please do not park within 10 feet of the orange coned area.
  3. Pull all the way forward to the volunteer before allowing children to exit the car.
  4. Allow the adult valet to assist children from the car. Drivers do not need to exit their vehicles.
  5. Children should gather their books, backpacks, jackets, lunch and/or any personal belongings prior to reaching the valet zone so they are ready to immediately exit the car.
  6. Before exiting the valet area, drivers should make sure it is safe to proceed.

Consider volunteering periodically to help make this service a success!
